The Trauma Recovery Center (TRC) of Rising Ground aims to help victims of violent crimes overcome barriers to accessing mental health treatment, health care, and legal resources in the acute aftermath of trauma.

Our Services

The TRC of Rising Ground provides services through an innovative model that blends comprehensive care, compassionate advocacy, and intentional outreach with the goal of transforming how survivors of violent crime are supported. Our trauma-informed approach centers healing, while our commitment to social justice ensures that care is accessible, culturally responsive, and driven by the voices and needs of survivors themselves.

Individual Therapy

• Evidence-Based clinical therapy for all ages offered in Haitian-Creole, English, and Spanish

Clinical Advocacy

Advocacy and outreach tailored to each person’s unique needs. Clinical case management includes:

Who is Eligible?

All survivors of trauma are accepted regardless of citizenship status, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, ability, religion/spirituality, nationality, socioeconomics, and insurance status.

How is “Trauma” Defined?

If you have experienced violence, crime or suffered a severe traumatic event that resulted in severe change in daily life that is unsustainable, within the past 3 years*

We support victims of violent crimes including, but not limited to, sexual assault, community violence, domestic violence, battery, physical assault, gun violence, vehicular assault, law enforcement violence, immigration violence, human trafficking, and family members who have lost a loved one to homicide.

*There is no time limit for derivative victim(s) of homicide.
